The National Project Coordination Unit (NPCU) 2.2C Component Lead, Mrs. Esther Ingbiase, has expressed her satisfaction with the progress of the Second Chance Education Component under the AGILE Project in Kogi State.

Her remarks came during a supervisory visit aimed at assessing the level of implementation of the component in the state.

Mrs. Ingbiase was warmly received by the State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU), led by the Project Coordinator, Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Oricha, alongside the Component 2.2C State Lead, Hajia Mariam Bello, and other key SPIU members. As part of her visit, she toured selected non-formal learning centres operating under the Second Chance Education framework across the state.

Speaking after the visit, Mrs. Ingbiase commended the commitment of the Kogi State AGILE team and the evident progress made in the identification and engagement of out-of-school girls through the alternative learning pathways.

She expressed her delight at the quality of the learning environment and the level of community involvement in the programme. She also shared valuable strategies and innovative ideas to further strengthen implementation, especially in the areas of enrollment tracking, centre facilitation, and community mobilization.

In his remarks, the Project Coordinator, Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Oricha, appreciated the visit by the NPCU representative and described it as a motivating force for the state.

He assured that the SPIU will continue to improve coordination and implementation, guided by best practices and feedback from national stakeholders. He also noted that the Second Chance initiative is critical to ensuring no girl is left behind in the pursuit of inclusive education in Kogi State.

On her part, the State 2.2C Component Lead, Hajia Mariam Bello, highlighted the dedication of her team and the support received from the SPIU and implementing partners. She acknowledged the suggestions made by Mrs. Ingbiase and pledged to integrate them into the next phase of implementation to enhance outcomes.

Hajia Bello also reaffirmed the state’s commitment to reaching the most vulnerable girls and providing them with safe and inclusive learning opportunities.
