The Kogi State Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project has joined millions of Muslim faithful across Nigeria and the world in celebrating the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.

In a goodwill message delivered on behalf of the Project, the State Project Coordinator (SPC), Alh. Ahmed Tijani Oricha extended warm felicitations to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, members of the State Executive Council, and all Muslim faithful in the state. The message also conveyed greetings to key development partners, including the World Bank, the National Project Coordination Unit (NPCU), and all implementing AGILE states across the country.

The SPC noted that Eid-el-Fitr is not only a time of celebration but also a period that embodies the values of sacrifice, discipline, compassion, and renewed commitment to societal development principles that strongly align with the core objectives of the AGILE Project.

“On behalf of the Kogi AGILE Project, I extend our heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, the Governor of Kogi State, and all our Muslim brothers and sisters on the successful completion of Ramadan. This season reminds us of the importance of sacrifice, patience, and dedication; values that are essential in our collective pursuit of improving access to quality education, especially for the girl-child,” the SPC stated.

Highlighting the project’s ongoing efforts, the SPC emphasized that AGILE remains committed to transforming the education landscape in Kogi State by addressing barriers that hinder adolescent girls from accessing and completing secondary education. These efforts include the construction and rehabilitation of school infrastructure, provision of learning materials, capacity building for teachers, and community engagement initiatives aimed at promoting inclusive education.

The SPC further noted that the spirit of Eid encourages unity and shared responsibility, calling on stakeholders, parents, community leaders, and religious institutions to continue supporting initiatives that promote education and empower young girls.

“As we celebrate, we are reminded that education is a powerful tool for development. When we invest in the education of our girls, we are investing in stronger families, resilient communities, and a more prosperous Kogi State. AGILE will continue to work tirelessly with all stakeholders to ensure that no girl is left behind,” the SPC added.

The message also acknowledged the unwavering support of the World Bank and the NPCU in driving the successful implementation of the AGILE Project across participating states, describing their partnership as instrumental to achieving sustainable educational outcomes.

The Kogi AGILE Project used the opportunity to call for sustained collaboration and renewed commitment from all partners and stakeholders, emphasizing that the goals of the project can only be achieved through collective effort.

As the celebrations continue, the Project prayed for peace, unity, and continued progress in Kogi State and Nigeria at large, urging citizens to uphold the values of love, tolerance, and mutual respect beyond the festive period.
