The Kogi State Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) State Project Coordinator (SPC), Alh. Ahmed Tijani Oricha has celebrated the Commissioner for Education and Chairman of the State Project Steering Committee (SPSC), Hon. Wemi Jones, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a driving force behind the steady progress of the Kogi AGILE Project.
In a statement released by the SPC, the team acknowledged Hon. Jones’ strategic leadership and policy direction, noting that his role has been pivotal in ensuring the project’s alignment with state education priorities and World Bank implementation standards.
According to the SPC, since assuming office as Commissioner for Education, Hon. Jones has demonstrated exceptional commitment to revamping the education sector in Kogi State. His leadership has strengthened institutional coordination, enhanced accountability mechanisms, and accelerated the execution of critical components under the AGILE framework.
As Chairman of the SPSC, he has provided high-level oversight and decisive guidance that have improved inter-ministerial collaboration and sustained stakeholder engagement; key elements in delivering impactful education reforms.
The SPC further highlighted that under his stewardship, the Kogi AGILE Project has advanced into a progressive implementation phase, with strengthened systems in areas such as infrastructure improvement plan, Conditional Cash Transfer execution, capacity building, and girl-child education support mechanisms.
Describing him as “a reform-minded leader with a results-oriented approach,” the SPC emphasized that his passion for education reform continues to inspire the project team and partners across the state.
The statement concluded with prayers for continued strength, wisdom, and greater accomplishments as he leads ongoing efforts to reposition Kogi’s education sector for sustainable growth.
